Ground Rules

1) Any ball that clears the lower-level signage at 8-feet above the ground shall be considered a home run. This includes the following:
– Any ball that clears the outfield wall on a fly
– Any ball that hits the chain-link fence above the outfield wall on a fly
– Any ball that glances off the padded wall (8-feet) on a fly and into the chain link fence and is wedged between the two, bounces into the field of play, or bounces over the chain link fence.
– Any ball that hits off the second-level signage in right-center and left-center field above the 8-foot mark in the area where the overall fence is elevated to 20-feet.

2) The top step of the dugout and the fence in front of the dugout is in play. A player may lean into the dugout to make a catch. Any ball caught while standing below the top step is a dead ball. Any ball that hits off the top of the dugout is a dead ball. Any ball thrown into the dugout is a dead ball.

3) Any baseball that hits off the netting (behind home plate) due to a pitch or throw is a live baseball. Any batted baseball that hits the netting will be ruled a dead ball.

4) The bullpen area is in play. However, if a ball becomes lodged under the bench or equipment in the area, it is considered a dead ball. If this occurs, the fielder must raise his arm to signal the umpires.

5) A ball lodged behind the tarp is a dead ball. The fielder is requested to raise his arm if this occurs. A player may lean on the tarp to make a catch, but is not permitted to stand on the tarp.

6) Any ball that becomes lodged between the field and the padding shall be ruled a dead ball. The fielder is requested to raise his arm to signal the umpires.

7) The handicap-access ramps on the 1st and 3rd base sides are dead-ball areas. A player cannot enter the area to make a catch, but can reach over the railing.
