CONTRASTING UNIFORM POLICY

Official Playing Rule 3.03 (d):
A League may provide that (1) each team shall wear a distinctive uniform at all times, or (2) that each team shall have two sets of uniforms, white for home games and a different color for road games.

To ensure that distinctive uniforms (jerseys) are worn at all times, the South Atlantic League will observe the following at all times:

  1. The home team will have final choice of uniform colors.
  2. It will be assumed that with in keeping with the official rules, home teams will wear uniform tops with “white” (or similar coloring) as the primary color and that all road teams will wear uniform tops with a primary color other than white.
  3. Should for any reason and at any time, a home team choose to deviate from wearing the traditional “white” at home, it may do so in its sole discretion. Notice of the home team’s intention to wear other than “white” uniform tops for a particular game(s) must be provided to the visiting team upon its arrival for the start of the series. In the event the home team chooses to wear something other than the traditional “white,” it shall be the responsibility of the home team to ensure its uniform tops contrast with the traditional “gray” of the road team.
  4. Visiting teams must travel with a traditional “gray” (or similar coloring) jersey that will always be acceptable regardless of the jersey being worn by the home club. The visiting team may choose to travel with additional uniform tops at their discretion. Visiting teams may wear alternate tops when they serve as a contrasting color to the home team uniforms.
  5. Under no circumstances are both clubs to wear dark jerseys in the same game.
  6. When the home team gives the visiting team notice of intention to wear something other than the traditional “white” jersey, it shall be the responsibility of the visiting team to wear a contrasting color.
  7. Field staff are not authorized to make a “daily decision” on which uniform top will be worn. Decisions are to be made in advance of the start of the series and communicated to the visiting team in advance.
  8. The League President shall have the discretion to levy fines on any team found in noncompliance with this rule.
