Rules & Regulations
Contained within this document are the South Atlantic League rules and regulations which are intended to work in conjunction with the Official Baseball Rules and the Constitution and By-Laws of this League. These rules and regulations will allow play to be conducted in an orderly manner and with the highest degree of integrity.
The South Atlantic League office will enforce the rules and policies as adopted. It is necessary for each general manager, field manager and umpire to be familiar with these rules and policies both as to their meaning and intent. It is also the responsibility of each field manager to see that his coaches and players are aware of and clearly understand the rules and regulations which pertain to their participation.
RULES FOR MANAGERS, COACHES, PLAYERS AND UMPIRES
- The use of profane or obscene language in the dugout or on the field is STRICTLY PROHIBITED in the South Atlantic League. Minor League Baseball prides itself as family-friendly entertainment. Using profane language, making vulgar signs or gestures and throwing temper tantrums within the view or earshot of the fans will NOT be overlooked. These actions will be subject to a fine as assessed by the League President.
- General Managers, Managers, Coaches and Players must keep out of the Umpire’s dressing room at all times. Violators of this rule are subject to a fine and suspension as assessed by the League President.
- Any Manager, Coach, Player, or Umpire verbally or physically assaulting a fan or club official, members of the media, or personnel associated with the teams, within the area of the stadium or parking area, shall be subject to disciplinary action at the discretion of the League President
- Any Manager, Coach, or Player offensively questioning members of the media or Official Scorers regarding the coverage of the game or scoring of the game, within the area of the stadium or parking area, shall be subject to disciplinary action at the discretion of the League President.
- Do not speak to or fraternize with gamblers on or off the field. If a gambler approaches you, you should report the incident to the League President IMMEDIATELY.
