PRE-GAME ACTIVITIES
The pre-game timelines for each club has been provided in the club information pages. Please refer to each club’s pages for their pre-game timelines for batting practice and infield practice. For all non-standard game times, the home team should provide the pre-game timeline to the visiting team as far in advance as possible, preferably at the beginning of the series.
Managers are urged to use their full allotment of time as outlined above and are required to terminate practice upon conclusion of the allotted period.
All players MUST wear uniforms with their name and/or number on the back when taking batting, infield, and outfield practice.
The name and/or number on a player’s practice uniform MUST be the same as the name and/or number that appears on that player’s official uniform.
At least sixty (60) minutes prior to the start of a game, the home club shall deliver sixty (60) baseballs, plus sufficient additional baseballs to play the game, to the umpire’s dressing room. These baseballs must be acceptable to the Umpire-in-Chief.
Each manager shall post the starting line-up card for his club in his dugout at least ninety (90) minutes prior to the starting time of a game. When a doubleheader is being played, each manager is to post his club’s starting line-up card for the second game at the end of the first game.
The home club will supply the visiting club with forty-eight (48) baseballs for batting practice. All baseballs should be in reasonably good condition.
The visiting club will supply its own baseballs for their pitcher to warm-up and for infield and outfield practice.
Warm-ups shall ONLY be taken in straight away center field. Warm-ups include running, stretching, and throwing. Each Club will station two (2) players in the center field area to provide protection to the opposing club that is warming up in order to minimize potential injury.
All players must wear official uniforms after the gates open. All club personnel (including managers, coaches, players trainers, and bat persons) MUST BE IN OFFICIAL UNIFORM when a game begins.
PEPPER GAMES
Pepper games may be indulged, however, batting (pepper games) toward the stands where there is a possible chance of injury to spectators is PROHIBITED. In addition, hitting baseballs off of a TEE against the stadium fences, outfield wall, or down the lines is STRICTLY PROHIBITED in the South Atlantic League.
